New!
Feldtunz!
My
collaborator and good buddy John Sieger has come out with another
album of Feldtunz on his Faux Real label, The Shaming of
the True, a title a dyslexic Shakespeare would have come up with.
I've been writing lyrics and he the music for longer than you can shake
a spear at, and the hits just keep coming. No sales, but we've taken a
lot of hits. John is a Renaissance man, and not just because of the tights,
but because he is an artist, musician, and teacher. And there's the codpiece.
I think it's a codpiece. John is a humorist, as well, being a very funny
guy onstage--off stage he's not that amusing. Our first song was If
My Old Man Were Alive Today This World Would Kill Him Quick, which
is as true today as it never was. Truer. Lyrics for me have always been
about combating depression and losing; so too here (work out the grammar
on that and get back to me) in this selection from The Shaming Goodbye
for Good, the highlight of which is the protagonist's love
interest's delicate leave-taking:
Screen door slammed
so hard
You know my coffee shook
Please don't say you're saying
Goodbye for good.
Eat your heart out,
Willie! The Shaming of the True is available at CD
Baby.
