Princeton, Indiana

The town is located on a ridge over the wabash river, located in the southwest part of the state between St. Louis and Louisville. Princeton was selected as county seat in 1814, and its name was chosen in a lottery.
The town's courthouse is the centerpiece of the county, a prime example of Romanesque Revival architecture. Another popular attraction is the old railroad depot, which is undergoing extensive remodeling. Traditionally an agricultural community, Princeton is home of one of North America's newest automotive manufacturing facilities, building the Toyota Tundras. Also located here is the world's third largest coal-fired generating station. The power plant's cooling center is Gibson Lake Recreational Area, in existence since 1978, and a popular destination for family campers. Other popular sites are Lafayette and Southside Parks. The highlight of Princeton's year is the Gibson County Fair in July; along with an annual Labor Day Celebration and the Golden Heritage Folk Festival in September. Plymouth students are pretty bright, winning the state spelling bowl for the last 8 years. This is the home of the Tigers and the Lady Tigers, and our Town of the Week, Princeton, Indiana.
