The Place To Be

Buried Alive Mansfield, England
September 5, 1998

When Railway Inn Pub Owner Spike Hartley heard about Geoff Smith's ambition to break a world record, he decided he had just the place for him to do it -- about 6 feet under the back yard of his Pub in Mansfield, England.

Geoff, son of the former "buried alive" record holder, is out to reclaim his mother's title by staying underground in a coffin-like box for more than 141 days.

Listen in Listen in as Michael gets the dirt on Geoff's accommodations -- a TV, a restroom, and a pipe for his mates to send him down a pint or two. Now he just needs a phone line so he can talk to everyone on the outside.
