The Place to Be, January 31, 1998
Come join us at Sloopys;
Bill Clinton didn't stop at Sloopy's Restarant, but he would have been welcome. Shortly after the Lewinsky scandal broke in Washington, President Clinton headed to LaCrosse, Wisconsin for a personal appearance. The people of LaCrosse weren't interested in the Clinton scandal; to them it was "just his personal life and stuff." Michael takes a barroom poll of the proprieter and patrons of Sloopy's restaurant in LaCrosse to hear firsthand about the afterglow of the Clinton appearance. And, what if had been George Bush?
