The Place To Be
Easter Parade with the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence
March 20, 1999
An Easter Parade like no other. Michael chats
with Sister Phyllis Stein of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence in
San Francisco. They're celebrating their 20th year of expiating
stigmatic guilt with a street party on April 4th. Get your Easter
bonnet ready!
The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, a group of drag activist nuns, helped create the first safer sex pamphlet to use normal language in 1981. The Sisters raise funds for groups that offer AIDS education and direct services for those infected with HIV.
