Thanks for the Memos

Stack of Memos Some time ago, about 1985, someone sent a memo from a hospital pathology unit, which described the conversion of the men's toilet into a doctor's office and the domino effect it had on the elevator's transformation into the autopsy dressing room. Needless to say, I was hooked: "Thanks for the Memos" was born.

Since that fateful moment I have received (which is not to say kept, as it quickly begins to get ridiculous) some six or seven thousand memos. This section is dedicated to the pursuit of memos. Browse our offerings and be sure to send us your own additions.

Stop that Door!
July 8, 2000

This memo from an academic institution gives you a peak at what your professors are really thinking about--black, rubber, wedge-shaped door stops. If the fire marshall takes yours, don't resist, we'll just replace it. Listen in and find out why...

Hear Listen in the memo from this week's show.
